I like to believe in a car maker's integrity (pun intended) in making an epic, if not, decent car. I always defended Acura's beak grille, I defend Lexus's spindle grille. However, I just can't see myself defending Acura anymore.
Year after year, they've been steadily dumbing down their whole range, up to the point where they promise a more exciting lineup year after grueling year. I saw the new RLX, I saw the new TLX. Acura claims they're better in every way, which they realistically aren't. Now, they're promising a cool new ILX, and I'm just not excited anymore.
That's the exiting new TLX, in case you mistook it for a Chevy Malibu.

With few exceptions, they've always reminded me of nothing more than tarted up Civics. (Sorry, man. It's true.)

Both the RLX and TLX are different versions of the Euro Accord, and the ILX is a Euro Civic.

Well, there you have it.

I mean, they do offer an AWD sedan with 300hp and a manual transmission that costs less than a 5-Series, so there is that. I guess. I don't know it's too hard to get excited about an Acura.

See i am growing to like them. Yes its some what of a ten year old design but those head and tail lights are amazing to me. The interior is nice and with the SH-AWD it goes. We probably will never see the Acura of old with Integras and RSXs because Honda doenst believe the market wants that here. So we have the sedans and NSX to look forward to... well there is something else that probably is coming but its nothing they havent done before.
Also the other thing is that they are selling. I dont have numbers but i know Honda is behind on production wise.

I gave up on Acura when they stopped making the NSX.

Oh. Well shit.

Who on the design team thought this was a good idea?

I'd take a TLX over an IS250/350 any day. It's the lesser of 2 evils.

I gave up on Acura right after they canned the NSX, and I always knew Honda would never try to make fun and exciting cars again after shitcanning the S2k. I'd love to see a 9k RPM VTEC V8 from Honda, but people keep buying their cars, and Acura is on it's way to hitting the 200k cars/year barrier they crossed before the recession in the US, so they have no impetus to give us anything beyond the Japanese equivalent of this;

Good analogy. Those 'foodstuffs' are the blandest bland to ever bland in the blandest telling of the bland history of all that has blanded.

You mean those heinous alloys, or the confused design language?

The wheels are disgusting, but I mean those terrible lines. There's like 4-5 lines at the start of the A pillar.

Well, at least we'll be getting the NSX again soon, right? Yeah, it'll be here soon...
Any day now...

The 2016 NSX caught fire at the Nurburgring. Reports say Acura is continuing development on the 2024 NSX immediately.

I test drove the TLX the other day. I like the front - that's about it in regards to the exterior.
The technology in it is pretty cool as well...
Welp, that's about it.
It's pretty much the Camry of the class...
